Passion

Strength

When I found out about The Art of Leadership for Women conference I ran, scratch that, flew to my computer. This event held May 29th at the Metro Toronto Convention is one not to be missed and is a must attend whether your running a Fortune 500 company or starting your own business from the ground up.

Co-founders Scott Kavanagh and Chris Novais, created Toronto based “The Art Of” so that professionals in all industries can come together sharing their philosophies and ideas. These high profile business conferences are run annually and include New York Times bestselling authors and world-renowned leaders. With over 20,000 attendees throughout the year it is an event focused on providing business professionals and entrepreneurs with the tools, techniques and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s changing marketplace.

And on May 29th, the focus will be on Women. A full day conference on leadership and women. This is one I must attend.

I’ve recently taken a big step with Good Night Sleep Site as some of you know. We are expanding rapidly and by 2015 I will estimate to have 10 Consultants working for Good Night. For over two years it was just me, myself, and I. I was my own leader and now that my team has grown, suddenly I’m someone else’s leader. While it’s exciting and something my business and myself are ready for, it’s also completely terrifying. Will I be a good leader? Is my team satisfied with their responsibilities? Am I supporting them enough, while also allowing them the room to grow?

Can you be a natural born leader? I think some may be. But I also strongly believe that you must learn to lead well by following those that have, and surrounding yourself with those that want to. This is why I must attend.
