How To Create A Family Docking Station

In order for our children to sleep better, parents need to be better sleep role models. It’s no surprise that in today’s day and age, technology use within the household is at it’s highest among all family members. Phones, tablets, TV’s and computers are how we watch our favourite show, connect with friends and family, and do almost anything, anywhere. It’s also the new way we do bedtime. Our children’s bedtime stories are e-books and our own paperback novels have been replaced by our phones and tablets on our night tables.

It’s time to #BringBackBedtime and remove tech from our bedrooms. Setting up your sleep environment for sleep success is a big component of proper sleep hygiene and it’s also one of the steps in our Good Night Sleep Cleanse. To clear your family’s bedrooms of their tech devices, I encourage you to create your own family docking station within your home. Choose a spot in your house, out of your bedroom where you can plug in your family’s devices overnight. It keeps everything charged, organized, and not beside your bed.
