We're helping Ottawa Sleep Better!
Jamie Contarini has always loved sleep! Her mom says that she was always the best sleeper, and the one who loved her naps. Jamie still finds joy (and rest) in a 20 minute power nap – if you haven’t tried it, you should!
When Jamie had her first son, she had early morning rising and 38 minute naps (to the dot). After meeting Good Night Sleep Site founder, Alanna, at a local mom meetup, she learned that the early mornings were tied to the short naps. After working together, her son extended his naps and his mornings, and Jamie was hooked! She wanted to help other families the way that Alanna helped hers.
Jamie was certified through the Family Sleep Institute and launched her career with Good Night Sleep SIte in January 2014. Jamie was Alanna’s first hire and is now a Senior Consultant and Team Manager, and has helped so many families over the past many years.
Helping babies sleep started her on the path to being a sleep consultant, and since joining the Good Night Sleep Site team she has taken further courses to learn about adult sleep. Jamie offers corporate lunch and learns in and has worked with doctors, pharmaceutical companies, lawyers and marketing firms in Ottawa, Mississauga, Hamilton and Brampton.
Since starting with GNSS, Jamie has hosted free family sleep clinics at a few of the Snuggle Bugz locations. She also had the opportunity to host a sleep clinic at The Atelier Collective in the Snuggle Bugz Mama Experience lounge. For years Jamie was a guest speaker with Mommy Connections, and hosted sleep clinics at local mom meet up groups. These clinics are an excellent opportunity for families to ask questions and join in the discussion with other families. It helps to know that they are not alone in their sleep struggles. Jamie is looking forward to setting up more of these clinics in the Ottawa area once it is safe.
Having kids does not mean that you have to be tired. Your kids can get the sleep that they need, and that will allow you the time to put your sleep back on your priority list. All kids are different – all families are different. Jamie will customize a sleep plan for your family. Her favourite part of working one on one is the support. Helping you through the implementation of the sleep plan can be tricky, and she is there to help you through it all.
Virtually working with clients has given Jamie the opportunity to work with families worldwide. Recently Jamie moved to Ottawa with her family – well, just outside of Ottawa. Everything seems to be 10 – 28 minutes away; Kemptville, Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Richmond and downtown Ottawa. She is enjoying exploring the area with her husband, kids and golden retriever, and cannot wait to make this area her home.
