About
Sleep is, quite simply, everything.
And we’re here to help you and your family get more of it – so you can feel your best and tackle all that the world (and your kids) throw your way.
Good Night Sleep Site was founded by Alanna McGinn in 2007 and now includes an incredible team of sleep consultants across North America that work together to support clients around the world.
Every member of our team is fully certified through The Family Sleep Institute, an extensive 6-month sleep training certification program consisting of over 250+ hours of training that is recognized as one of the few in depth and extensive certifications in the Sleep Consulting industry that Alanna also serves on the faculty.
Most of the support we provide is online sleep program-based, with 1:1 and group support organized according to age: newborn (up to 4 months), baby (4 to 12 months), toddler, kid to teen, and adult sleep support. We also run corporate sleep workshops and are the go-to sleep expert for a number of national publications and media outlets.
In all that we do, our mission is to educate, guide, and support families as they become a healthier, more well-rested family unit.

Founder Alanna McGinn
Nobody loves sleep more than our founder and fearless leader Alanna McGinn! She started Good Night Sleep Site in 2007 and has grown it into a leading source of sleep information and support for families across North America and around the world.
Based out of Toronto, Ontario, Alanna is a wife and mother of three (one + twins!) Her career as a sleep expert began shortly after her first child was born. There was so much out there on pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding – but she couldn’t find any resources to support her when it came to sleep.
So, she started doing her research and had great success getting her daughter (and therefore herself!) the sleep she needed using the principles and techniques she had learned. Word got out that she’d ‘cracked the code’ and, before long, Alanna was fielding sleep questions from friends and neighbours on a daily basis.
It was clear there was a need for sleep training support and Alanna wanted to use her awareness, ability and understanding to help others who were struggling – so she became certified as Sleep Consultant through The Family Sleep Institute, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since 2007 she and her trusted team of sleep consultants have successfully helped thousands of families overcome their sleep challenges and establish healthy nighttime habits so they can get the sleep they need.
In addition to running Good Night Sleep Site, Alanna hosts the top- rated This Girl Loves Sleep Podcast and is the author of This Baby Loves Sleep. She is also a sought-after speaker, resident sleep expert for multiple publications (including Forbes, Maclean’s, Today’s Parent, and Prevention Magazine) and the media sleep expert on Cityline, The Marilyn Denis Show, Breakfast Television, CBC Radio, Your Morning, CP24, CHCH Morning Live, and 680 News.

FAQs
There are a few questions we hear often about Good Night Sleep Site and sleep training in general. So, we thought we’d answer ‘em here for you. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, please feel free to contact us – we’re here to help!
A: The thought of their baby crying is the hardest part of sleep training for most parents. The bad news is that it does happen – even with the gentlest methods – but the good news is that it goes away.
It makes sense – you’re about to impose a fairly drastic change on your baby, especially if they’ve been bounced, rocked or fed to sleep until now. This is why support is SO important – and why Good Night Sleep Site exists. Sleep training CAN be tough – but it’s so much easier if you have a plan and the right support, which is exactly what we’re here to provide.
A: Sleep support is an unregulated industry, which means that just about anyone can call themselves a sleep consultant (which isn’t good but that’s a topic for another day). One of the key things that sets us apart is our education and training. Every member of our team is fully certified through The Family Sleep Institute, an extensive 6-month certification program consisting of over 250+ hours of training that is recognized as one of the few in depth and extensive certifications in the Sleep Consulting industry. Our founder Alanna McGinn has also served on the faculty for over 8 years.
We also have results that speak for themselves in the form of thousands of happy, well-rested clients.
A: The same reason you’d hire an expert to help you with any number of other things – having a professional to guide and support you can be THE difference between success and failure (or, in this case, restful sleep and exhaustion).
Hiring a sleep coach is likely a worthy investment for you if you feel like you’ve tried everything, are too tired to figure it out on your own, or simply want professional guidance and support.
Also, it’s important to note that we offer a range of plans from super hands-on to DIY – so there’s a solution for virtually every price point.
A: Yes and yes. Thanks to the wonders of technology, we support clients across North America and around the world. All payments go through PayPal and are completely secure.
A: We sure do! As a mom of twins herself Alanna has a firsthand understanding of what it’s like to have more than one baby at a time and all the challenges that go with it! If you have multiples, please reach out to discuss how we can best support you.
A: We absolutely can! Because every child is different, at a different age, and with its own set of sleep issues, each would have to have their own separate sleep plan and program.
A: We know this can be daunting – but we also know it’s 100% worth it. We’re here to provide the plan and the support – but it’s important to note that your success hinges on your commitment to the process.
If you aren’t serious about solving your sleep issues and aren’t consistent in the method and routine we choose together, it won’t work – 100% guaranteed. But, if you ARE willing, dedicated to the process and consistent, we’ll have your child “sleeping like a baby” before you know it.
